Request for Proposals: Bookkeeping and compliance services for Emerge Colorado
Introduction: Emerge Colorado is a 527 tax-exempt political organization based in Denver, Colorado. We recruit and train Democratic women to run for office, and have one full-time staffer. We are looking for a contract-bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day expenses, write and sign checks, manage IRS filings and 990s, produce semi-monthly financial statements and balance sheets, and reconcile the bank records once per month. The bookkeeper should use quickbooks or similar software and be willing to track disbursements in NGP VAN, which is an online platform that assists us in tracking donations, expenditures, and compliance.

Qualifications:
We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper who is detail-oriented, can meet multiple deadlines with no dropped balls, and who can help us and collaborate with us on improving our internal controls. Prior experience working with 527s or other political organizations is prefered, but is not a requirement. We are willing to train someone how to use the NGP VAN system and on the specifics of the IRS Form 8872 filing.
