Dever, CO—This past Sunday, June 23, 2019, Emerge Colorado graduated 26 women from their annual six-month training program during a commencement ceremony at the Washington Street Community Center in Denver. Emerge Colorado is the state’s premier candidate training program. Each year the organization recruits and trains Democratic women to run for office; their flagship program is a six-month fellowship that covers connecting to voters, field plans, managing staff, the endorsement process, fundraising, ethical leadership, and more. Emerge Colorado’s win-rate since its inception in 2012 is 88% and they currently have 49 alumnae in elected office across the state, including 15 at the capitolTheir victories underscore the value of their training program in increasing women’s representation in government across Colorado. In 2019 Emerge Colorado will train 85 women across their six-month program, summer boot camp, and one-day trainings.

“When women are trained and encouraged to run, women win, and this group of fresh political leaders are just what our state needs to chart a path forward to a brighter, more just future for us all,” said Michal Rosenoer, executive director of Emerge Colorado. “The women who go through our training program are the rising stars in Colorado’s political world.
