We encourage you to begin your application well in advance of the closing date due to the detailed nature of the application.

Emerge Colorado seeks Democratic women who are committed to effective political leadership, are interested in running for elective office, and who have:

  • Evidence of political, public policy, workplace, or community leadership;
  • Ability and desire to build effective networks;
  • Ability to articulate a personal political vision;
  • Commitment to equity and openness to diverse viewpoints;
  • Commitment to full participation and attendance requirements of the training’s

Each year Emerge Colorado will select cohorts of women from across the state as candidates for our Bootcamp and Signature Program.
Emerge embraces diversity and encourages applications from all women regardless of age, race, color, national or ethnic origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, or physical ability. Our mission to build the bench of Democratic women ready to run for office acknowledges both the systemic and historic barriers to running for office as well as the internalized barriers women experience. We highly encourage women of the New American Majority – Black women, Indigenous Women, Women of Color, LGBTQI+ women and nonbinary individuals, disabled women, young women, and women from other underrepresented communities to apply.

To be considered for the 2023 Emerge Colorado training program, applicants must complete a written application by the deadlines given.

Time Commitment

The success of the Emerge Colorado program depends upon your commitment to the program’s entire schedule by each participant. Some time outside of regularly scheduled training will be necessary for homework and training preparation. Regular attendance is essential to being a successful graduate of the program. If a scheduling conflict arises, notify the Political Director as soon as possible to address gaps in attendance that may impede successful completion, or to provide support with unforeseen circumstances.

The 2023 program will be a hybrid model of both in-person and online training. In-person training will be held in Denver, Colorado unless otherwise noted.

Signature Class trainings will run over several weekends from Friday evenings from 5:30 – 8:30 and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 – 5:00. Bootcamps will run Friday – Sunday from 8:00 – 5:00. These may be adjusted to meet calendar needs.

Interviews traditionally take place on weeknights, with limited weekend interview slots. We will make every effort to offer flexible scheduling options to interview all potential candidates.

Application Fee

Tuition for the Bootcamp program is $500 and our Signature Program costs $1250. Payment plans are available and Emerge Colorado will assist program members with fundraising their tuition if needed and spreading it out. Financial need should not be a barrier to applying to the program. To that end, we invite participants to apply for full or partial scholarships by checking the scholarship box on the application.

We highly encourage women from outside of the Denver metro area to apply and have limited scholarship funding to assist with travel costs, lodging accommodations, or childcare stipends.
