Emerge Colorado – Part-Time Program Coordinator/Internship

Emerge Colorado is seeking a part-time support person at 10 hours per week to assist the Executive Director in duties including event planning, communications, data entry, and operations coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage multiple detail-oriented tasks simultaneously, be extremely organized, and able to manage a varied workload without daily oversight. This position is an opportunity to engage with political professionals and women candidates, learn more about Colorado politics, and help support the premier recruitment and training program for Colorado women interested in pursuing elected office.

This is a part-time paid position based in Denver and reports to Emerge Colorado’s Executive Director.

About Emerge Colorado

Emerge Colorado is a political nonprofit organization whose mission is to recruit and train Democratic women in Colorado to run for office and win. We have one paid staff person, our Executive Director, based in Denver. We run a six-month program that trains approximately 25 women a year to run for office, as well as a variety of shorter trainings throughout the year. We work closely with our 300 alumnae, political professionals, candidates, and partners to ensure women’s voices are elevated in politics and represented in government. This year we will run multiple trainings on the Western Slope, formalize our alumnae committee, and hold multiple community engagement events. We also provide support to our current cohort and mentorship and coaching to our 2019-2020 candidates.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinating training and event logistics: research locations, caterers, housing, and transportation, work on communications materials, organize applicants and RSVPs, outreach to confirm trainers and attendees, etc.
  • Fundraising support: Research prospective donors, maintain and update the donor database, assist with call time, provide logistical support for fundraising events.
  • Administrative: organize files, update multiple databases, and do outreach to ensure data is up to date and entered correctly
  • Communications: craft materials to support Emerge’s candidates, create social media and email posts, design graphics in canva, and work towards expanding Emerge Colorado’s online presence and brand

Qualifications

We’re seeking candidates who excel in self-direction and accountability, are results-oriented, and have strong project management skills. Strong applicants will have:

  • Strong written communication and verbal communication
  • A demonstrated commitment to meeting a high bar and a history of getting things done even in the face of obstacles
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and ability to oversee a cadre of staff, consultants, and volunteers
  • Professional experience in social media, event planning, and/or logistical support
  • A passion for advancing women’s leadership in politics
  • Ability to work 10 hours/week minimum for a minimum of three months

Compensation is $15/hour without benefits.
