Cynthia Brashears Scholarship Fund

Cynthia Brashears Scholarship Fund

At our 2021 Trailblazers Reception, we honored the life and memory of our Emerge Colorado sister and former board member Cynthia Brashears (Wake), who passed away earlier this year from breast cancer. Cynthia was a passionate advocate for social justice dedicated to electing more progressive Democratic women to public office. To celebrate her legacy, Emerge Colorado founded the Cynthia Brashears (Wake) Scholarship Fund for incoming class members by providing stipends to assist with program costs. At the heart of our mission, Emerge Colorado strives to remove barriers for women running for public office to help them reach their political aspirations.
Our 2022 Signature Class will be the first cohort to benefit from the new Cynthia Brashears Scholarship Fund, which has also resulted in a more diverse representation of applicants.
